Leonis Promotes Koven and Schaudies and adds Burton and Woodard
NEW YORK, April 2, 2018 – Leonis Partners today announced that it has selected Robert Koven and Derick Schaudies for promotion to the role of Managing Director, effective from January 1, 2018, the start of the firm’s fiscal year. These elevations place Koven and Schaudies into the leadership positions where they will best be able to guide the Leonis team through continued growth and success.
Koven and Schaudies were the Leonis leads on Moven’s strategic capital raise from TD Bank. Additionally, Koven successfully executed a capital raise for Accela, an Abry Partners and Bregal Sagemont portfolio company in the government tech space, while Schaudies successfully orchestrated a sale of Blueprint RF, a managed WiFi solutions company, to Cox Communications.
Robert Koven joined the Leonis team after years on Wall Street advising large public companies since the beginning of his career with JPMorgan. His wide-ranging experience has allowed him to excel in his advisory capacity to Leonis clients, and we are excited to devote further resources to him in his new role. Koven will be based in the firm’s New York headquarters, where his network of private equity and strategic resources will continue to benefit the firm and its clients.
Derick Schaudies began his career as a transactional attorney in the public and private arena in New York, with the global law firm Morgan Lewis. Since joining Leonis, Schaudies has continued to advise clients on all aspects of transactions – from strategy, positioning and timing to specific potential risks related to nuanced aspects of a deal. Schaudies will be the first in the role of Managing Director in the Leonis Atlanta office.
Joining Robert Koven and Derick Schaudies in the Managing Director position will be Rob Burton and Ernest Woodward, two new arrivals with special expertise in the field of Fed IT. A retired naval officer and a graduate of MIT, Johns Hopkins, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt, Woodward has a long career devoted to the Federal IT space, and we are excited to have him as part of the team. Burton also brings significant transaction expertise to our new Washington office, having worked early in his career for global firms like Barclays, and more recently in industry-focused roles at Hammond Hanlon Camp.
